Housing prices in the Sarasota Real Estate market posted a nearly 10 percent increase during the second quarter when companred with the first three months of the year, and sales rose 20 percent. the data from the Florida Association of Realtors came against the backdrop of national sales that rose during the second quarter in 39 states, boosting the notion that the over all house market is finally coming back to life.
The median sales price in Sarasota was $161,500 compared with $146,500 the previous quarter, but still down 34 percent from 2 years ago. There were 2,218 homes that changed hands during the second quarter, traditionally a slower time of year in Southwest Florida. that compared with 1,842 homes sold in the first quarter.
Condominiums also were showing signs of life, with the median price in the Sarasota market rising 10. 6 percent to $148,100 from the first to second quarter.
